His research interests include mobile systems, middleware, and ICT for Development, with a track record of successful industry transfers resulting in startups and new products. Notably, he serves as the Nodal Officer appointed by the Govt. of NCT, Delhi, overseeing the 181-Women-in-distress helpline, for which his team has developed all the software.
Dr. G. P. S. Raghava earned his M.Tech from IIT Delhi and Ph.D. from the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh. Over three decades, he served as a scientist at the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh. Throughout his tenure, his group developed over 250 web servers, published 200 research papers, and created 35 databases and mirror sites, resulting in 80 copyrights/patents. Dr. Raghava's outstanding contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards including the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award, the National Bioscience Award for Carrier Development, and fellowships from the National Academy of Sciences and the Indian Academy of Sciences. His expertise lies in biological sciences and bioinformatics, contributing significantly to the field.
Ganesh Bagler is a computational researcher with expertise in physics, computer science, and computational biology. He is renowned for his groundbreaking work in 'Computational Gastronomy,' which merges food with artificial intelligence. Dr. Vibhor holds a Ph.D. in Computational Systems Biology from Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto), Finland, following his M.Tech. from IIT Delhi. His research journey began with computational challenges in analyzing large image datasets from cryoEM and statistical analysis of genomic data. During his Ph.D., he achieved a milestone by solving the first and highest-resolution structure of LDL in its native state at human body temperature. Subsequently, he delved into computational genomics, spending a year at a personal-genomics company in Malaysia before joining the Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), where he spent over 8 years. At GIS, he focused on epigenomics and gene regulation, with applications in cancer and stem cell research. Currently, he contributes to data sciences and genomics, leveraging his expertise in computational approaches to unravel biological complexities.
Dr. N. Arul Murugan, Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, conducts computational drug development research at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Specializing in neurodegenerative and infectious diseases, he utilizes quantum mechanics and machine learning for druggability prediction. Murugan has published extensively, edited a book, and serves on editorial boards of leading journals, including Scientific Reports and IJMS. Currently, he is editing a special issue on Covid-19 therapeutics and diagnostics for IJMS.
Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Dhanjal obtained her Ph.D. from IIT Delhi in 2019, focusing on the intersection of computation, cellular, and molecular biology. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at AIST, Japan, she delved into cancer genomics with a focus on personalized therapeutics and investigated the mechanisms of action of bioactive compounds from natural sources. Pankaj Jalote, a Distinguished Professor (CSE), was the founding Director of IIIT-Delhi (2008-2018). With a diverse career, he held academic positions at University of Maryland College Park, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Delhi, and served as Vice President at Infosys. Jalote's educational background includes a B.Tech. from IIT Kanpur, MS from Pennsylvania State University, and Ph.D. from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a prolific author in Software Engineering and Higher Education, with several translated books. Recognized as a Fellow of IEEE and INAE, he has served on editorial boards of prestigious journals.
Sujay Deb is a Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-D). He received Ph.D. from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Washington State University, Pullman, WA on May 2012. Before his current position, he worked as an intern at Intel Labs, Hillsboro, OR. His major awards and achievements include DST INSPIRE Faculty award in 2012; Outstanding Ph.D. student award in Computer Engineering, WSU, 2011; Winner of India-US Grand Challenge Initiative for Affordable Blood Pressure measurement technologies in 2014.
Rajiv Ratn Shah holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the National University of Singapore, with prior degrees in computer applications and mathematics from Delhi Technological University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Banaras Hindu University, respectively. He's received prestigious awards such as the ERCIM Fellowship and was a runner-up in the Grand Challenge competition of ACM International Conference on Multimedia. Dr. Shah actively participates in organizing and reviewing for top-tier international conferences and journals. Before joining IIITD in Dec 2016, he spent a year as a Research Fellow at the Living Analytics Research Center (LARC) at the Singapore Management University.
